Quote for the Day
“Success is a few simple disciplines practiced every day while failure is simply a few errors of judgement repeated every day”
Jim Rohn
Focus
We are living in very strange times. Recently, we went from a respected member of the G7 to a Banana Republic and then, within days, started the long journey back, all in the space of a few weeks.
How do you avoid the noise, and Focus on what is critical to you and your businesses survival?
I read a book recently called Will It Make the Boat Go Faster? by Ben Hunt Davis, who is an Olympic rowing medal winner, and coach Harriet Beveridge.
Here are some ideas:
We are all heading somewhere, whether we like it or not, so create enthralling goals to achieve the kind of happy, successful life you want.
If you doubt your goal is possible, you are doomed to fail.
Daley Thompson used to say Christmas Day was the best day to train because no-one else was training, so you could get one over your opposition.
Motivation simply means keeping going in the right direction.
If you are too comfortable, it can be difficult to motivate yourself to change.
Daydream about achieving your goals – imagine it so vividly it feels real.
If you set a goal of doing something for just ten minutes, you will probably get further than if you set yourself a meaty target.
It is so easy to kid ourselves that we are powerless, and let our hopes and dreams slip from our grasp. Ask yourself: what is in my control and what can I do with it?
Your best chance of getting great results is to stop focusing on results and start focusing on processes that will get you great results, and success will take care of itself.
Get curious about the recipe – look carefully at what gets you one result rather than another.
Small, incremental changes made on a daily basis multiply into massive improvements to results.
What is your equivalent of making the boat go faster and how can you use these ideas to help you not only to survive but thrive?
